From the Prez…
As the Board Members visited other Senior Centers in the regions, we often heard a common theme; that is Seniors need to be visible and active in their community and last week we did just that!
Sunday, KASZ partnered with local barbers for Kutz for Kidz which provided free haircuts for over 100 kids as well as, free school supplies too! The event included Hot dogs and hamburgers, cupcakes, a Bouncy House and a Fire Truck tour. Even one of our own KASZ member, Fran G, a retired beautician, helped cut young girls’ hair.
Then, at last Tuesday’s lunch, our KASZ Krafter’s and other members made over 100 Hospitality Gift Bags with notes of encouragement to be given away to Kyle’s finest Police and First Responders. Thank you, Carl Gilson, for bringing this great community project and opportunity to KASZ.
I want to thank all those involved especially the many members who came through the doors with their donations of cereal bars and treats to be used for the goodie bags.
Our next planned visibility events will be the “Founders Parade” in October and the “Christmas Toy Drive” in December.
I was very happy and surprised with those volunteering to be considered for the Board. We still have some positions open. Please let us know if you are interested.
Hope to see you all Sunday at our 4th “JAM” and Dance at 3pm. Bring a friend.
TEAM KASZ
Stay Kool KASZ,
Larry
