Vice-Prez Letter (8/11/19)

I would like to “Thank you” for allowing me to serve you as your Vice-President for taking on the duties of the President, Larry Simone, while he was out of town.  Despite Larry being out of town, he was with KASZ every step of the way keeping tabs and communicating daily. It is nice to witness that we are all here as KASZ members for the best of KASZ.

I want to especially Thank, Steve Butler, our Architect/Engineer and Consultant, for conducting our first of several Town Hall Meetings about the future of a New Senior Center. I also want to thank all the members who gave of their time to stay after lunch and who provided valuable feedback and suggestions.  The Town Hall Meetings are an essential way to allow your voice as a member to be heard. After all, this is your Senior Center.

Just a reminder about our upcoming Election for the Board, which will be held at Tuesday’s Lunch on September 17, 2019. Elections are run to ensure members are democratically voted into the positions required to operate the organization.  This Election allows the membership to vote in the members they believe are best suited to fill the position on the Board.

If you are good with numbers and have accounting skills, please consider signing up to run for Treasurer. The Treasurer maintains KASZ Financial Records, Submits Annual Budget and oversees all deadlines on Grants and maintains accurate records with IRS requirements.

Lastly, we are excited to be part of the KUTZ for KIDZ Fundraiser on Sunday August 11th from 1pm to 5pm, which will provide free haircuts and school supplies to those who registered to attend.  Donations of new backpacks and school supplies will continue to be accepted until 12 noon on Sunday.

We are also accepting donations at the Tuesday Lunch on August 13th of cereal bars for the Police Department and First Responders to create 80 goodie bags with notes of encouragement after lunch with the help of the KASZ KRAFTERS.
